Optiview was proud to host the Low Voltage Nation event “Bringing Your Network Outdoors” on May 4, 2022. Joining LVN were some industry experts from ArmorLogix, nanoFIBER, PoEWit, and Jonard Tools who all discussed the best methods and tools to use when expanding your network outdoors. The classroom sessions were informative, lunch from The Bearded Pig was amazing, and the hands on demonstrations were a lot of fun for everyone involved.

CLASSROOM SESSIONS

We heard from Blake, founder of Low Voltage Nation who spoke about the path of learning, and about the value of #community in the industry. Gary Bibeau shared his experiences of over 20 years of working with enclosures and #learning the importance of thinking in 3D when designing outdoor network solutions. Lee talked to us about the importance of #learning and #teambuilding. TJ shared the importance of #quality when it comes to installing fiber systems. Steven #shared with us his market insights on types of fiber and things to look for when considering what type to use. Ricky shared his 20+ years of #knowledge of fiber tools and equipment. Joseph shared some unique lighting solutions #working over low voltage and PoE.

WORKSHOPS

After some delicious BBQ from The Bearded Pig, attendees were able to visit all four of our workshop stations which were a lot of fun! We worked on drilling out ArmorLogix enclosures to install weatherproof glands, building onto an ArmorLogix backplate, how to properly strip, cleave, splice, and terminate fiber, and how to trouble shoot fiber networks in the field using a variety of tools.
