05 Jun People Counting & Crowd Density Monitoring IP Security Cameras
Optiview continues to carry both traditional IP security cameras, and offer advanced IP surveillance cameras with features like built-in AI for perimeter protection, heat mapping, and LPR. Optiview is now carrying a variety of IP cameras that support people counting and crowd density monitoring, and better yet, they’re all NDAA compliant.
HOW DOES PEOPLE COUNTING WORK?
DIFFERENTIATING BETWEEN PEOPLE COUNTING AND CROWD DENSITY
People Counting is a deep learning AI function of the camera, that is able to classify a moving object as a person, and then ‘capture’ that person when they cross a predetermined line (triggering a virtual tripwire). The people counting feature, also sometimes called people flow counting, must be turned on from the camera side through a web browser. This feature can count how many people have entered, exited, or track both entrances and exits an area has had.
Crowd Density Monitoring is calculated by capturing the number of people at each moment that are within a designated detection area. This feature allows alarms to be triggered and notifications sent if the number of people exceeds a certain amount for potential code violations, tracking peak crowd congestion for food courts or merchant locations, or of potential safety hazards due to an excess of people in an area.
PEOPLE COUNTING CAMERAS
Unless the people counting IP security camera has a built in memory card that it is storing to, these surveillance cameras will need to be paired with a compatible NVR that also supports people counting and crowd density monitoring. Optiview offers a range of 8 / 16 / 32 / 64 and 128 channel NVRs that support people counting so you will be covered on your project, no matter what.
